INSPIRE — MFG Conference 2026
In 2026, we’re bringing the MyFirstGym Conference home.
Returning to our founding club, the place where the MyFirstGym journey first began. This year’s theme, INSPIRE, celebrates the passion, people, and purpose that continue to drive our network forward.
This more intimate gathering will focus on meaningful conversations, shared learning, and strengthening the connections that make our community so special. Together we’ll reflect on how far we’ve come, celebrate excellence at the Annual MFG Awards, and continue inspiring the future of MyFirstGym.
Purchase your conference tickets here! All access and social tickets available.

Rich Burrows has operated at the sharp end of performance his entire career, from counter-terrorism investigations with the Australian Government, to co-founding a national executive search consultancy, to coaching Olympic athletes and world champions. He knows what it looks like when people perform under real pressure, and more importantly, what separates those who find a way through from those who don’t.
Today, Rich is the founder of RES//STANCE LAB, a physiology-led performance and breathwork practice based on the Sunshine Coast. His work with elite athletes, senior executives, and high-performing business owners centres on a simple but profound idea: sustainable performance isn’t about pushing harder, it’s about building range.
His message for business owners is grounded and direct. Inspiration isn’t a feeling you wait for. It’s a state you learn to access, through the body, through practice, and through the kind of self-awareness that most people never develop because no one taught them how. Rich does.
A volunteer surf lifesaver, freediver, and lifelong learner, Rich lives what he teaches. He brings a rare combination of scientific rigour and hard-won experience to the stage, and leaves audiences with tools they can actually use on Monday morning.
Emily Johnson doesn’t just teach leadership and performance; she engineers the psychological resilience and mental fitness required to sustain it. As a Workplace Psychologist and the Co-Founder of Get Mentally Fit, Emily believes that training our minds should be just as intentional, proactive, and disciplined as training our bodies.
Known as a “common-sense psychologist” and an absolute realist, Emily cuts through the fluff of traditional self-help to deliver evidence-based, practical frameworks that work in the real world. Her powerhouse 27-year career bridges the gap between human behaviour and practical execution. She spent a decade as an organisational development consultant before dedicating the last 17 years to practicing as a psychologist. Having guided thousands of people, from everyday teams and small businesses to leaders at major Australian icons like Coles, Newscorp, Telstra, NAB and Commonwealth Bank, Emily masterfully bridges the gap between clinical theory and commercial reality and understands exactly what it takes to navigate high stress, manage modern team dynamics, and thrive through change.
Emily is deeply passionate about teaching people the science of behaviour change and habit formation. Drawing on neuroscience and positive psychology, she shows audiences how to make small, sustainable shifts in their daily routines to protect their energy levels, eliminate daily firefighting, and unlock peak performance. She gives you the practical “how” to lead yourself and your team with unwavering clarity, composure, and confidence.
Her dedication to building functional capacity and real-world life skills perfectly aligns with the youth fitness and movement community. Emily is also the Founder and Director of her secondary business, Funxion4Life. During school holidays, Funxion4Life runs dynamic adventure days specifically designed for teenagers with mild to moderate functional support needs. Providing an inclusive, safe, and friendly environment, the program partners with TAFE QLD to run hands-on cooking classes, takes teens out on the water for sailing and fishing, and challenges them with ‘Great Chases’, where they build immense independence by navigating public transport across the Gold Coast – no parkour required! These experiences give teens a powerful space to boost self-esteem, make meaningful connections, and master vital life and social skills.
Warm, engaging, and deeply relatable, Emily will leave you with the mindset tools and behavioural habits you need to sustain your energy, support those around you, and thrive.
